There are plenty of construction trade jobs that offer competitive pay and superb benefits to provide peace of mind throughout your career.

Working at Carter can provide just the opportunity you need to elevate your career. We have plenty of high-paying opportunities with superb benefits at our locations throughout Virginia and southern West Virginia. Some of the high-demand jobs you can expect to find at Carter include:

  • Field Service Technicians: Are you a self-starter with a strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills? A technician job may be perfect for you. The best candidates are those with heavy equipment service or diesel school experience, are comfortable in a shop environment, can accurately diagnose problems, and have excellent customer service skills.
  • Conventional Machinists: Individuals with salvage-related machining and manual machine experience may be good fits for a machinist position. These positions run conventional machines in a “job shop” environment, perform repairs to equipment and parts to allow salvage of the components, and design, fabricate, machine and assemble components. Must be able to handle work on major components such as engine, hydraulic, transmission and frame.
  • Management Trainees: Are you a “people” person with a lot of energy and a strong work ethic? Carter’s management trainees in parts and service operations are tasked with directing the parts and service work-flow while ensuring top-notch customer service. As you learn more about the company, your opportunities for advancement continue to grow.
  • Electric Power Generation Technicians: EPG technicians focus on preventative maintenance, inspections and troubleshooting on electric power generation equipment, engines, components and systems.
