Carter Machinery Company, the authorized Caterpillar dealer serving Virginia, West Virginia, Maryland, Delaware and Washington D.C. is hiring a Facilities Administrator in Richmond, Virginia. The Facilities Administrator is the primary liaison between the Facilities Supervisors and the Facilities Manager. The Administrator is responsible for invoicing, scheduling, and direct interaction and assistance with property management, property acquisition, architectural, and construction. The Administrator will analyze and propose solutions for defects for the preventive maintenance, new construction, and/ or property acquisition process. Additionally, the individual in this position will monitor service-related expenses for specific Facilities Accounts to assure work order accuracy. Seeking candidates with a minimum five years facilities or procurement experience required. Construction experience preferred. Licensed trades in electrical, plumbing, and HVAC.
Requirements for the Facilities Administrator position include:
- Extensive knowledge of dealer procurement style software systems to quickly and accurately create process invoices and project numbers.
- Must be able to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
- Must have a high construction aptitude and an understanding of applications, operation and functions. Must be able to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions. Must be able to interpret an extensive variety of technical data relating to construction, and property acquisition.
- Must possess ability to communicate with vendors and internal personnel either verbally or in written form. Must be able to interact with individuals at all levels of the organization. Must be able to communicate using email or telephone.
- Strong PC skills and the ability to adapt to changing technology. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products. Strong excel proffered.
- Clean driving record and a valid driver's license required.
- Must be able to handle large volumes of work in a fast-paced environment with ability to coordinate multiple competing tasks and demands. Requires strong organizational skills.

Physical requirements must be met for the Facilities Administrator job, including regularly being required to sit and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms. Employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.
