Carter Machinery Company, the authorized Caterpillar dealer serving Virginia, West Virginia, Maryland, Delaware and Washington D.C. is hiring a Fleet Assistant in Richmond, Virginia. The full-time Fleet Assistant is responsible for maintaining asset titles, certificates of origin, accident and registration information; assisting with Department of Motor Vehicle (DMV) issues; assisting in the execution of the company’s asset disposal strategy and performing various other administrative tasks in support of the Fleet Department. Seeking candidates with previous experience performing administrative assistant or clerical duties preferred. High school graduate or GED equivalent.
Requirements for the Fleet Assistant position include:
- Must be proficient with MS-Office applications, web-based systems, and performing research on the internet.
- Must possess ability to work in a high-volume and fast-paced environment with ability to prioritize competing tasks and demands.
- Attention to detail.
- Must have strong interpersonal skills with the ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external customers.
- Must possess excellent written and verbal communications with the ability to interact professionally with all levels of employees within the organization.

Physical requirements must be met for the Assistant job, including the ability sit or stand for prolonged periods of time. Able to lift, carry and maneuver items up to 20 pounds in weight.
