Generator Road Service Mechanic
New York City Territory
Pay: $47.46 - $60.19/hour

Key qualifications:
- Minimum three (3) years’ experience in Electric Power Generation, including troubleshooting and repair of electrical equipment, (generator, ATS, switchgear), AC and DC, and diesel engines required
- Advanced Electrical troubleshooting skills, breaker testing, paralleling generators, medium/high voltage, transformers, thermal scan (IR Scan) preferred
- Clean and valid driver’s license required (this is a road/field service position)
- Must be computer proficient to be able to run diagnostic software and prepare service communications
- Must have strong communication and self-management skills
- Must be open to working overtime, including evenings, holidays, and weekends as needed
- OSHA-30 Card (preferred)
Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Generator Assistant Service Manager, the Generator Road Service Mechanic is responsible for the following tasks:
- Troubleshoot electrical & mechanical problems
- Efficiently utilize resources to correct problems & document steps taken
- Plan proper repair procedures for efficiency
- Efficiently utilize tooling and technical resources
- Effectively communicate status of repair work with supervisor
- Represent the company in a positive, professional manner
- Communicate customers’ options to correct current problems
- Advise customer of cost of repair and collect payment as required
- Complete/attend all safety meetings, computer-based trainings, audits, and other trainings as assigned
- Work in a proactive, safe manner in compliance with all safety protocols & training
- Immediately resolve and/or report all safety issues to supervisor
- Maintain a clean and safe work area in compliance with all Contamination Control Initiatives
Qualifications:

- Outdoor work (as required)
- Wearing 10-20lbs. of protective clothing, including fire resistant clothing, welding helmet/shield, & ANSI-rated protective footwear (as required)
