Carter Machinery Company, the authorized Caterpillar dealer serving Virginia, West Virginia, Maryland, Delaware and Washington D.C. is hiring a Specialty Products Division Manager. The Specialty Products Division Manager is responsible for developing and leading strategies for growth of Carter Rental Services Specialty Fleet offerings and business from acquisition to disposal profitably. The individual in this role will forecast and plan for, grow, and direct Specialty Fleet management and business Must be able to activities and personnel, while ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction. Specialty fleet consists of product categories such as traffic control, pumps, rotating telehandlers and other new products as assigned. Seeking candidates who are dedicated self-starter with a minimum of five years proven industry sales and leadership experience. Bachelor's degree in a business-related field preferred. Rental fleet management experience over a large complex asset base and strong equipment service acumen preferred.
Requirements for the Specialty Products Division Manager position includes:
- Must be able to effectively support the sales team in marketing Specialty rental equipment to customers, reviewing negotiated terms, and processing closed deals.
- Strong business acumen including budgeting, financial analysis, forecasting and fleet management.
- Must be able to guide sales staff in the development and execution of action plans to improve their territory management skills and customer and jobsite understanding.
- Must be able to monitor the business environment to support and guide executive management in identifying and addressing business opportunities and challenges.
- Strong decision-making capabilities.
- Detail oriented and analytical and data Driven.
- Must be able to work independently or as part of a team that is reliant on each other to succeed.
- Strong communication skills; verbal and written as well as strong listening skills
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office: PowerPoint, Excel, Word
- Excellent customer satisfaction skills and ability to build strong internal/external relationships.
- Travel within dealership territory is required (estimated at 50-70% annually), including possible overnight or out-of-town stays via car, or airplane (a handful of times a year).
- Must be able to handle large volumes of work in sometimes stressful situations.
- Must be able to work shifts needed, including days, nights, and/or weekends to meet customer demands.
