Position Overview

There is nothing in our inventory as valuable as the associates who carry our reputation into the marketplace. With the training we provide, the Lot Technician helps Arnold to keep that standing.
Perform an array of functions that may include receiving and processing incoming stock and materials, picking and filling orders, packing and shipping orders, or managing, organizing and retrieving stock in the warehouse.
Essential duties and responsibilities
- Assist shipping and receiving unloading trucks and checking in merchandise
- Prepares orders by processing requests and supply orders; pulling materials; packing boxes; placing orders in delivery area
- Sort and place materials or items on racks, shelves or in bins according to organizational standards
- Open bales, crates and other containers
- Prepare parcels for mailing
- Maintains safe and clean work environment by keeping shelves, pallet area, and work stations neat; Sweep, dust and mop. Organize work area for orderliness at all times
- Perform routine light maintenance on equipment (cleanliness, pre-inspection, etc.)
- Wear the proper safety equipment
- Operate and maintenance on forklifts and other material handling equipment
- Ability to use a forklift and overhead crane to handle and move components and parts during the repair process
- Willingness to help out in other areas of the shop based on work load
Qualification requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent preferred
- 1-2 yrs previous experience preferred
- Good communication, organizational, time management mathematical skills
- Dependable and Reliable
- Equipment maintenance, data entry and computer skills may be required
- Ability to safely operate a forklift and overhead crane
- General mechanical knowledge
Physical Demands and Working Conditions:
- Walking and moving about on foot often through uneven terrain
- Lifting over 50 lbs. frequently
- Hands/arms operating equipment, hand and power tools
- Raises or lowers miscellaneous equipment parts and tools
- Extends hands and arms in any direction
- Climbing in and out of equipment
- Read work tickets, parts and service books and operate heavy equipment
- Communications by radio, phone and in person
- Hears well enough to discern mechanical problems for safety in and around shop and mining sites and to receive communication by radio, phone and in person
- Sits in equipment and vehicles
- Lies in prone position under vehicles and equipment
- Ability to work in different weather
