Salary Range: $60,000 – $85,000 (Lateral Transfers Encouraged)

This is an excellent opportunity for an industry professional to expand their career through training tomorrow’s technicians. This
instructor will work with a Lead Instructor on the specific courses but may teach individually on occasion. WyoTech Instructors
have the technical aptitude to teach the courses they are assigned and fulfill all administrative functions. WyoTech Instructors
should work toward course mastery in all courses they are assigned and should obtain course mastery in a minimum of two
WyoTech courses. A background check will be required upon offer.
Responsibilities
Administrative
- Adhere to and ensure the enforcement of WyoTech policies and procedures as stated in the Employee Handbook; Advise students on attendance, grades, professionalism, and personal problems to ensure completion of their career program.
- Submit grades, tests, attendance, and all other material; Plan class instruction based on syllabus and ensure learning objectives are met. Ensure all educational activity is conducted ethically and legally; Utilize the CANVAS LMS system.
- Support EPA and safety procedures; Encourage students to do safe, quality work with safety precautions.
- Maintain and attend to the repair as necessary of class equipment and tool inventory. Lock up your area.
- Attend scheduled instructor meetings, graduation, and registration; Participate in curriculum and professional development; Communicate effectively with all WyoTech faculty and staff. Instructional
- Encourage motivation and enthusiasm in the shop and classroom; Develop a professional rapport with the students.
- Prepare adequately for class and shop prior to start time; Have supplemental teaching items ready; Provide appropriate information, resources, and assignments for a lesson; Provide peer tutors as needed.
- Monitor class; Remain in control of the class throughout the classroom lesson and in the shop.
- Follow all ADA requirements. General
- Be available for students 15 minutes before and 15 minutes after scheduled class time.
- Always maintain security on all tests and lesson plans; Always maintain confidentiality.
- Other related duties as directed by the department coordinator/department assistant coordinator.
Minimum Qualifications
Candidates must meet state certification, regulatory agencies, and accrediting body requirements including but not limited to:
- Must be able to provide work verification; Must pass a background check upon offer.
- Minimum of 7 years’ work experience (5 years’ work experience with Associates) in the diesel industry as an experienced technician working on medium/heavy duty trucks, off-highway equipment, or other industrial applications requiring skills in diesel engines, emissions, hydraulics, chassis, transmissions, a/c, transport refrigeration, electrical and electronic systems, CNG and LNG systems, drivability diagnostics, and EV experience.
- Positive attitude and willingness to work in a team environment.
- Be proficient in the use of computers; Must be able to pick up on software used in an educational environment.
- ASM Instructors must have a bachelor’s degree.
