Job Description Summary:
The Service technician will troubleshoot/diagnose equipment problem and perform repair work on a wide variety of equipment. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Maintain and repair heavy diesel, gas and electrically operated construction equipment. Repair types can range from complete machine overhauls to minor repairs such as fixing leaks, changing fluids and filters.
- Diagnosing operational difficulties; disassemble and reassemble equipment, replacing defective parts. Diagnostics can include checking pressures, voltage and flow to identify the source(s) of equipment problems.
- Work independently or with senior technicians to rebuild components such as engines, transmissions, hydraulic cylinders and hydraulic pumps.
- Prepare parts requisitions and enter requisitions into the Company’s computer system.
- Must be capable of performing heating, brazing, soldering, burning and minor welding not requiring certified welding skills.
- Technician will use Anderson’s systems to document work orders, track progress of repairs and order parts. Focus on safety protocols and regulations must be maintained at all times.
Required Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Two year Technical degree or comparable military training considered a plus;
- Minimum of 2 years work experience in heavy equipment repair and maintenance;
- Must be able to demonstrate working knowledge of equipment operations, mechanical functions, electrical and hydraulic systems;
- Proficiency with computers and diagnostic programs provided by manufacturers.
- Ownership of adequate hand tools.
Compensation and Benefits:
- Compensation depends on location, experience/skills, overtime: $24.75-$42.00 per hour.
