A Day in the Life of a Parts / Service Manager:
Compensation: $80,000.00 - $95,000.00 annually DOE plus annual incentive
The Parts / Service Manager will be responsible for managing the day-to-day service and parts operations for the Five Points, CA dealership to maximize return on investment through optimizing service and parts department processes to ensure internal and external customer satisfaction, growing profitable parts and labor sales, exercising disciplined expense control, attracting and retaining outstanding talent, and effectively engaging department personnel.
- Develops and follows an annual parts and service budget to provide realistic, attainable and
- measurable profit goals compatible with overall dealership financial and operational goals.
- Coordinates recruiting of new talent utilizing local technical schools programs, corporate
- recruiter, and other resources to hire top talent.
- Develops and retains key talent through individual development plans.
- Maintains all management reports necessary to audit the performance of department and
- individual employees.
- Develops, maintains, and adheres to a priority system for scheduling all service work for customer and internal.
- Ensures that all manufacturer warranty and Product Improvement Program (PIP) claims are
- completed and filed within the required time frame according to manufacturer’s
- requirements to receive maximum credit.
- Monitors warranty expense and recovery rates to meet company objectives.
- Responsible for facility inspections, safety meetings, and coordinating the annual safety
- Inspections.
- Schedule and assign jobs and work areas to employees according to their skills and
- Knowledge.
- Coordinates dealership training program and service-related customer clinics.
- Executes day to day objectives to meet or exceed annual parts and service department goals
- and budget, in alignment with the organization’s financial and operational objectives
- Insures proper parts stocking levels to maximize customer satisfaction and maximize
- utilization of company resources. Works with other stores to maximize company resources
- when ordering parts.
- Develops and executes Parts Department marketing plan and monitors monthly to ensure
- achievement of departmental goals.
- Department processes including accuracy of parts counter tickets and tracking of lost sales.
- Conducts a perpetual/annual physical inventory of all parts and related inventories
- Monitors metrics on a monthly basis to assure achievement of departmental goals.
